Join Tomi in this special Japanese soul food lunchtime workshop featuring miso.

This workshop will include cooking demonstrations, an opportunity to taste many different miso dishes, and suggestions on cooking with miso. It will be practical, interactive and fun. You will leave the workshop feeling full in the belly, heart and soul.

Tomi is a trained Macrobiotic cook with many years cooking with traditional Japanese culinary and preserving techniques. She lives in Warburton and makes her own miso and koji from Australian organic ingredients and fresh mountain water from Mount Donna Buang. She is passionate about the local community, nature and miso.

Back in Japan, Tomi would have miso soup and rice with every meal. Mornings would start with miso soup, nourishing the soul for the day’s work.

Tomi will introduce not only Japanese traditional miso dishes, but also miso used in western/Australian style dishes to make it user friendly for every household. Miso is not only very versatile, but incredibly beneficial for your gut health.


All ingredients used in the workshop will be local, fresh and organic. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian diets will be catered for.
