This special family friendly collaboration with King Oyster Mushroom will bring together mushroom growing in a deliciously practical day.

The workshop will include:

• Basic introduction to mycelium, mushroom log growing & preparing mushroom garden beds

• Using hazelnut & mountain ash logs from the property, you will make your own shiitake mushroom log to take home. The process involves drilling holes into the logs, inserting small dowels inoculated with mushroom spawn and sealing the holes with beeswax. They will be ready to fruit next autumn/spring. The logs will provide amazing mushrooms for years to come with very little maintenance (just keep them out of the sun!)

• Opportunity to wander around the 600 hazelnut tree grove and soak in the forest of mountain ash trees on the property

• Organic herbal tea, coffee & scrumptious morning tea
