Reconnect

immersed in nature & living with the seasons

Yama Ki is set on 54 acres of native bush tucked up the misty mountains. The property has three distinct microclimates due to the varying elevation - 400m elevation at the base of the property, a natural creek meanders through the lush tree ferns creating a cool wet sanctuary; at the middle of the property, the tall mountain ash and stringy bark eucalyptus trees stand in their grandeur; and 500m elevation at the top of the property, rolling open paddocks and mountains expands out into the horizon. The natural environment also attracts an abundance of Australian wildlife including wombats, wallabies, kangaroos, king parrots, cockatoos and lyrebirds, creating your own private wildlife sanctuary. Wild deer and foxes also scurrying about.

We grow nutrient dense and medicinal food & herbs suitable to the temperate mountain climate. This includes over 600 organic hazelnut trees, several chestnuts trees, berries, wasabi, mushrooms, vegetables, and medicinal herbs. We apply biodynamic and organic growing principles, and do not use any chemicals or pesticides throughout our garden or property.

Our aim is to create a meaningful, sustainable and nourishing place for everyone to retreat, replenish and reconnect in nature.

nutrient dense & medicinal herbs/food

Our focus is to grow nutrient dense and medicinal herbs & food that is suitable to our wet cool mountain climate and fertile acidic soils.

This includes berries (raspberries and blueberries), wasabi, mushrooms, veggies and various medicinal herbs.

Our nut grove includes over 600 hazelnut trees and several chestnut trees. The hazelnuts are hand harvested towards the end of summer, sun dried and cracked fresh each season. The chestnuts are hand harvested throughout autumn. We love making hazelnut chocolates and roasting chestnuts over the fire.

We are currently creating a food forest under the canopy of the hazelnut grove, including avocados and other fruit trees.
